Where can I use my card to shop?

There are no changes to where you can use your card.

If you have an HBC MasterCard, your card can be used anywhere that MasterCard is accepted worldwide.

If you have an HBC Credit Card, you can use your card at the HBC Family of stores – the Bay, Zellers, Home Outfitters, as well as Esso locations across Canada.

Does this change affect the Terms and Conditions of my account?

Will there be any changes to my interest rate?

If you have an HBC MasterCard, the Initial Rate is 29.9%.
The Standard Rate is Canadian Prime Plus 17%. The Initial Rate is lowered to the Standard Rate when a purchase is made or a cash advance is taken outside of the HBC family of stores anywhere that MasterCard is accepted worldwide.

Interest rates for an HBC Credit Card are 29.9%.

Do I have to change the way I make my monthly payments?

No, you can continue to make all payments to the Hudson's Bay Company, which will be accepting payments on behalf of Capital One. Payments can be made in the following ways:

For those cardholders with optional creditor insurance (HBC Account Protector, ChargeGard, AccountGard, SafeGard or CashGard)*, your insurance coverage will continue uninterrupted without a change of terms. There is no change to the fees.
