About Hudson’s Bay Rewards
A. To be promoted to a higher tier, you must:
- Make at least 2 purchase visits to Hudson’s Bay, thebay.com or Home Outfitters in a calendar year (January 1 to December 31).
- Use your Hudson’s Bay Rewards Card when making your purchase.
- Meet each tier’s annual net purchase total (purchases before taxes and net of any returns at Hudson’s Bay, thebay.com and Home Outfitters). Rewards Plus: $400-$1,199.99; Rewards VIP: $1,200 or more.
(You’ll receive a special Rewards VIP Card within four to six weeks after qualifying for Rewards VIP status.)
A. Here are some examples of how a purchase visit is defined:
- Multiple purchases made in the same store on the same date count as 1 purchase visit.
- Purchases made in 2 different stores on the same date count as 2 purchase visits.
- Purchases made in the same store on 2 different dates count as 2 purchase visits.
- A purchase made in a store and a purchase made online on the same date count as 2 purchase visits.
(Remember, you’ll need to present your Hudson’s Bay Rewards Card for your purchase to count as a visit.)
See the Hudson’s Bay Rewards website for full terms and conditions.
A. You can check your tier (Rewards, Rewards Plus or Rewards VIP) on your sales receipt or by logging in to the Hudson’s Bay Rewards website.
A. Yes, your status will change:
- If you make a return that causes your annual net purchase total to drop below the amount specified for your tier – for example, if you spend $450 within a calendar year, you would qualify for Rewards Plus status. However, if you then make a return of $300 within that same year and your annual net purchase total is reduced to $150, you would no longer be considered a Rewards Plus member.
- At the end of each calendar year – for example, if you’re a Rewards Plus member on December 31, your status will return to the base Rewards tier on January 1. Your Hudson’s Bay Rewards status is not permanent and you must requalify for Rewards Plus and/or Rewards VIP status by meeting the minimum in-store spend requirements between January 1 and December 31 of each calendar year. When the term of your tier comes to an end, you’ll still get to enjoy some of the benefits of your tier for one more year – visit www.newrewards.ca to view these benefits in the “Savings and exclusive access” section of the Hudson’s Bay Rewards program chart.
A. You can double your points when you use your Hudson’s Bay MasterCard or Hudson’s Bay Credit Card with your Hudson’s Bay Rewards Card at Hudson’s Bay, thebay.com and Home Outfitters. That means you can earn up to 4 points per $1 with the Rewards VIP tier. Click here to learn more about our Rewards tiers.
A. When you use your Hudson’s Bay MasterCard outside of Hudson’s Bay, thebay.com and Home Outfitters, you get 2 points for almost every $1 you spend and a 25% bonus twice a year on those points. (The 25% bonus will appear on your credit statement in January and July, and is calculated based on the total points you’ve earned in the previous six months.)
A. You can redeem your Hudson’s Bay Rewards points for Hudson’s Bay Gift Cards in stores or online. Points can be redeemed in stores starting at 2,000 Hudson’s Bay Rewards points for a $10 Hudson’s Bay Gift Card, or online starting at 5,000 Hudson’s Bay Rewards points for a $25 Hudson’s Bay Gift Card.
About Chip and PIN Technology
A. The Hudson’s Bay MasterCard is enabled with chip technology and can be used everywhere MasterCard is accepted. The microchip is embedded in the card so that the card is extremely difficult to replicate.
A. Please follow these steps:
- Insert your Hudson’s Bay MasterCard into the chip terminal.
- Enter your PIN, then leave your card in the terminal while your transaction is processing.
- Remove your card from the terminal once your transaction is completely processed and obtain the receipt.
Note: Your PIN replaces your signature at chip-enabled merchants.
A. The chip card will also have a magnetic stripe. Merchants without chip technology will swipe the card and then you will sign the receipt.
A. It continues to be a safe option; however, chip technology provides a more advanced form of security. Your Hudson’s Bay MasterCard also comes with Zero Liability, which means that you’ll be reimbursed for any unauthorized transactions made on your account, as long as you keep your account in good standing, you have exercised reasonable care in safeguarding your card, and you have not reported two or more unauthorized events in the past 12 months. For complete details, please see your Hudson’s Bay Account Agreement.
A. You can choose and change your PIN at any time by calling us at 1-866-640-7858 from your primary/home phone and following the prompts.
A. Choose a PIN that’s easy for you to remember but difficult for others to figure out. Avoid numbers that are linked to your personal information (e.g., birthdays, phone numbers). Never disclose your PIN to anyone, and ensure that people can’t see the numbers as you’re entering your PIN.
A. Change your PIN immediately if you suspect that someone else knows your number, or if your card is lost or stolen.
A. No, there’s no additional fee to receive a chip card or to use it.
